oriGIn Uzbekistan is officially registered
The non-profit organisation for the development of geographical indications has started work.
On 28 August 2026, oriGIn Uzbekistan, a non-governmental, non-profit organisation established as an institution, was registered by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It was founded under Presidential Resolution PQ-358 and Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 375. The founders are Tashkent State University of Law, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the “Hunarmand” Association.
At the founders’ meeting on 25 August, the Charter and emblem were approved and A.N. Yakubov was appointed Executive Director. The organisation’s main task is to help producers identify, protect and bring local products to world markets as geographical indications.
